Scale Ireland State of Start-Ups Survey 2025

To coincide with our 4^th Annual Regional Start-Up, we're pleased to share the findings from our State of Start-up Survey 2025, representing insights from 235 Founders and CEOs.

For the fourth consecutive year, access to funding remains the predominant concern among founders, with 80% of respondents indicating that attracting private capital is either "difficult" or "very difficult" — consistent with our findings from the previous three years.

The survey also reveals that start-ups are embracing AI technologies, with nearly 88% of founders either currently deploying or preparing to implement AI solutions. Notably, while 59% of respondents are aware of the new EU AI Act, approximately 44% acknowledge uncertainty about its potential impact on their businesses — highlighting an information gap that could present challenges in the future.
